We had a simple mission, to bring mainstream artists to our town and celebrate Panjabi culture in the spirit of unity, togetherness community. Sucha Mela brings international superstars from the world of bhangra, bollywood and traditional folk music on the big stage in unique festival atmosphere that includes dance, street-food, funfair, exhibition and lots of live music. Enjoyed by over 10,000 people in 2023.

Aces Records champions authentic Panjabi sound and has supported the Mela by promoting local and emerging artists who represent the raw energy of desi music. Their contribution helps nurture the next generation of British Panjabi talent.
Co-organiser of the festival, Manpreet Darroch Productions plays a central role in designing the stage programme and cultural curation of the event as well as its outreach strategy, communications, media and hosting. They ensure the festival reflects both the historic spirit and contemporary voice of the Panjabi community in the Black Country.
Known for promoting premier events and live acts, YG Entertainment supports the vibrant artist lineup at Sucha Mela 2025, helping bring international flair to Willenhall.
Through National Lottery public funding, Arts Council England helps support the creative and cultural elements of Sucha Mela, including traditional performances and the “Panjabi Tales of Willenhall” exhibition. Their support ensures that diverse arts remain visible and valued in public spaces.
The Grand Theatre has firmly established itself as one of the West Midlands’ leading cultural venues. Admired by performers and audiences alike for its intimate, three-tiered Victorian auditorium.

Our ambassadorial scheme, launched in 2018, brings together individuals from underrepresented backgrounds to help us build stronger connections within the local community, promote the theatre, and ensure our space remains inclusive and accessible to all. This work has also helped shape our programming – ensuring a diverse range of productions that better reflect and resonate with the audiences we serve. The backbone of the live music offering, The Live Experience Band, led by Tubsy Dholki Walla, is the official house band of Sucha Mela. Their phenomenal live backing elevates each artist’s performance, ensuring every song feels vibrant, real, and unforgettable.
A music label and promoter helping to platform fresh talent and timeless sounds from Panjab, JT Nagra Muzic’s support brings variety and vibrancy to this year’s festival.
A platform dedicated to celebrating the British Panjabi experience, Brit Punjabi connects community, culture, and creativity through digital content and media partnerships.
As the West Midlands’ leading Asian radio station, Radio XL is a key promotional partner. Through live interviews, on-air segments, and festival coverage, they help connect listeners to the heart of the Mela, building buzz in the weeks leading up to the event.
A long-standing supporter of South Asian arts and media, Kanshi TV amplifies the reach of the Mela through broadcast partnerships and cultural coverage.
A digital news platform known for its sharp storytelling, DESIblitz helps promote Sucha Mela through features, artist interviews, and community coverage. Their support strengthens the online presence of the Mela and showcases its cultural impact.

As a cornerstone of regional arts, the Gallery supports culturally diverse projects and contributes to the storytelling legacy of the Panjabi community through creative collaboration. This year the NWAG are collaborating with us for a free South Asian crafts tent for families to enjoy Panjabi Crafts led by artist Daya Bhatti.

The Sucha Mela team is made up of a local steering committee of passionate music fanatics, community champions and media partners. Genesis Media is the founder of Sucha Mela and is supported in its mission by Aces Records, Darroch House Consultancy, and supported annually by powerhouse media partners such as PTC Panjabi and RadioXL.
The Mela is backed by local businesses, Councillors and the local Walsall Authority, especially by Cllr. Simran Cheema representative of Willenhall.
